I’ll do a final wrap-up of the failed Lin Wood campaign for SC GOP chair and then move into a roundup of other conspiratorial news.
At yesterday’s South Carolina Republican Party convention, Lin Wood only received 28% of the votes for chairman. Incumbent chairman Drew McKissick, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, took more than 67% of the vote. Trump had most recently reaffirmed his support for McKissick on Friday.
Wood claimed on Telegram ahead of the vote that “Drew is a cheater” and:
“if [McKissick] ‘wins’ today, he will be a Fake Chairman just like Biden is a Fake President!”
After he lost, Wood was a sore loser (of course):
“Congratulations to Drew ‘Biden Won’ McKissick. Drew won the delegates in an establishment created election. I won We The People. Drew will learn in time that ALL the power belongs to We The People.”
Wood’s campaign included bringing in Mike Lindell for a Mother’s Day event in Horry County. Wood performed strongest in Greenville and Horry Counties. Wood also attacked McKissick and Senator Lindsey Graham while also referring to a plandemic and saying the leaders in the SC GOP weren’t doing enough to stop pedophilia.
Former GOP chairman Katon Dawson summed up Wood’s prospects:
“You don’t just show up in South Carolina, buy a plantation and become Republican chairman,” Dawson said. “Lin Wood couldn’t get elected dog catcher.”
One county chairman also commented:
“I just think Lin is a lot of hot air,” said Clarendon County Republican Party Chair Moye Graham. “I don't even know why he wants to run for the South Carolina chair.”
“I'm not concerned about him winning, I'm concerned about him breaking off people from the party because of the way he tries to manipulate people and tries to act in public. It makes good Republicans look bad,” he added. “I mean, the guy is a loose cannon.”
In Other News
Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene and Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez were in the news this week after a confrontation started by Taylor-Greene outside the House chamber. Additionally, video from 2019 was reported on. In it, Taylor-Greene “can be seen taunting Ocasio-Cortez's staff outside the congresswoman's locked office by talking through a mailbox slot urging her to come out.”
Taylor-Greene was also in the news after WSB-TV in Atlanta reported that she and her husband were claiming homestead exemptions on two houses in different Georgia counties. The congresswoman attacked the reporter in her response by saying, “ustin Gray needs to mind his own business instead of launching yet another pathetic attempt to smear me and my family.”
Here’s another item I found interesting. I had heard about the Boebert-Lane rumors but not about Huertz.
